| I have a MV600i, bought new in March 04. Despite no more than 40 hours total usage from new, this week it has started to show picture faults on its own displays (viewfinder and/or flip-out screen on the side). The faults appear as five vertical columns of white 'tearing', each about 1/20 of screen width scrolling up the screen. When the video is from the camera itself, the faults are recorded onto the tape, as well as being visible in the viewfinder. When I input video from a separate 'bullet' cam via AVin, the faults are on the screens but not on the tape and when downloaded by Firewire into my PC the results are OK. Writing an edited file back to a MiniDV tape (by Firewire) gives good pictures when read back in to the PC. Transferring to VHS via AVout writes the faults onto the VHS tape, even when they aren't present on the MiniDV tape. Seems to me that the digital part of the camera is OK, but some of the analogue is defective. All the connections I can find (external and internal) seem solid. All menu settings are unchanged from when it worked normally. Has anyone else experienced this problem or similar? Any ideas to fix it would be welcome. TIA Paul |
