Is your firewire sharing an IRQ with other hardware? Pinnacle recommend that
you have an IRQ of it's own. I used to have capture problems untill I set
the firewire card to a dedicated IRQ on it's own.

There's something about this on the Tuning page on:
http://www.camcord.info

It also shows how to ensure that the priority of the firewire's IRQ is
permanently high.

Thanks Martin and tony sorry I havent got back to you sooner as I have
been away all week, but I will try what you suggest tonight and let
you know what happens.

Many Thanks

Ok I did as you suggested, I deinstalled all pci cards, shut down the
computer, took out the pci cards and started up the computer, no
problems. I then shut the compouter down, installed the firewire card,
loaded windows it found the drivers and said everything ok. I checked
the irq and its on 11, at this point I tryed to capture some video
through the firewire card and the preview window froze after 15
seconds by the way I stuck another 512mb stick of ram in with the
other 512mb stick and the computer didnt get past post, so I tryed the
new ram on its own and it still cant capture past 15 seconds.

Another question on my D drive its formated as NTFS partition is there
any way I can change it back to FAT32 so I can have win98 on it as a
duel boot xp/win98 system.

thanks

Bruce
