Default iMovie HD

Hi:

I use a Sony HD-30. The reason I bought it was that it will do analogue to
digital pass-through, and I used it with iMovie with great success.

But with the latest version, iMovie HD, it just tells me there's no cassette
in the camera. I *know* this - I don't want to record off the cassette. But
it won't let me record the digital stream from the analogue input. If I put a
cassette in, of course, it just records off the cassette.

Anyone else had this problem, or know of a way round it?

Snipped...

Can you be a bit more specific, Martin? According to Sony, the HD-30 is
an OB unit (large caravan on wheels, fitted out with mixing units).

The reason I am querying this is because I was hoping to have a look at
the manual (on-line). None of the Sony manuals explain well just how to
use analogue pass-through.

Sorry: I meant an HC-30. Specifically, a DCR-HC30E. (I think it was you who
suggested it.)

I don't think it's a problem with the camcorder, since it worked (and still
works) perfectly well with older versions of iMovie. It's just the latest
version - iMovie HD - which is proving so cussed.
