Default Replacement Batteries

Hello

Can anyone recommend a good online shop for replacement Sony batteries?
Looking for an NP-F330 compatible for a handycam.
Are those advertised as 100% compatible really so?
They certainly look much better value.

Many Thanks
Fred

Yes and no. I've bought substitute batteries which seemed every bit as good
as the originals (and as you say, a lot cheaper than Sony!), but more
recently I bought a pack of 2 each of which lasts little over an hour when
they are supposed to last 2 to 3 hours. The Sony originals and 4 other
"subs" all last about 3 times as long under similar usage.
Not all batteries are created equal it seems.

Rob

Many Thanks
Fred

Best place to buy camcorder batteries is E-Bay. Just search there for
the battery type (NP-F330).

Ditto for lens filters and Tele/WA lens converters (search for your
camcorder lens filter screw size, e.g. 30mm)

Thanks for the feedback....

I've decided to buy a "new" Sony battery off ebay - price is better than new
non-Sony batteries.
Sounds too good to be true - hope it isn't ;-)

I should add (to my suggestion) that you also have to factor in the high
postage cost (most are shipped from Hong Kong, and of course the longer
delivery time.

Nevertheless, you'll be paying considerably less than you would from a
UK supplier.

One word of caution, however. Paypal (which is the best way of paying)
often leads to phishing. You may get e-mails purporting to come from
E-bay or Paypal asking to you confirm your personal details (including
your card details). These requests are very convincing (same logos and
style). Just ignore them.

Agree, got a 2nd battery for my Sharp off them. Fast service,
apparently identical product, 1/4 the price of a Sharp original ;-)

Cheers - Neil

Would you mind telling me watch search criteria you used - I could do
with one myself

I was actually look at words like "genuine" in the title and not getting
much back. I've relaxed my criteria and see a few more now

Just search for the (branded) battery type - e.g. NP-FM50.
