I've decided to buy a "new" Sony battery off ebay - price is better than new

Sounds too good to be true - hope it isn't ;-)

Would you mind telling me watch search criteria you used - I could do
with one myself

I was actually look at words like "genuine" in the title and not
getting much back. I've relaxed my criteria and see a few more now

If you look carefully, you can spot "equivalent" batteries with a better
spec than the originals. For example, the supplied battery with my
camcorder is rated at 1180mAh while the (last) one I bought is rated at
1450mAh, and is the same size.

My battery arrived this morning - very prompt delivery.

I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a Sony battery though; my initial
reading of the ebay advert certainly gave me that impression. Looking again
I see the word "equivalent" in rather small letters - I really think this
should be given equal prominence to the word Sony.

The photograph of the battery is also a bit misleading. The wording on the
base plate is almost identical to my Sony original battery but the
additional word "Fits" that precedes "Sony" is unreadable - a coincidence
I'm sure.

Oh well, it fits fairly well and its initial charge is certainly up to what
is claimed. Let's hope it retains its charge as well as my original Sony
battery has.

Did the packaging having Sony on too? I see lots from Hong Kong like
this and am unsure whether to go for one of these or not
