| I have had the above camcorder for about 18 months and am generally very happy with it. However, I find the screen as good as useless outdoors. Increasing the brightness simply washes out the image. Compared to the screen on my Canon Ixus still camera, and other screens on Sony and Olympus kit it is hopeless. Has anyone else got the same problem or is it just this one that has a dodgy screen? Brian |

Not directly answering you question, but offering a possible solution..... http://www.srbfilm.co.uk (page 15 of their catalogue) offer screen-shades in two flavours, one with magnifying lens, and one without. They are available in the following (diagonal) sizes: 1.8", 2", 2.25" and 2.5". They are fitted using Velcro strips (so the screen can be folded almost flat). I haven't personally used one (both my camcorder's screen size are 3"), but a friend has with some success. -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |
