Are DVD player/recorders which are compatible for the "+" type media able to
playback the dual layre versions of this format.

Just a thought.

I'd suggest that if the player/recorder that is *not* dual-layer would
certainly *not* playback a DVD recorded in dual-layer. Conversely, one
that *is* dual-layer *would* most certainly playback a DVD recorded in
dual-layer. If that is what you meant by the question :-)

Commercial DVDs have been dual-layer for a long time. I think we all
managed to play them on our computer DVD drives before dual-layer
burning became an option?

How closely a burnt dual-layer DVD approaches the full specification,
and how well a particular unit will cope with it is of course open to
question.

The "would certainly" in that sentence should read "may".

Pioneer's A07 single-layer burner plays back dual-layer DVD-R.
