| Just wondering if any of the current crop of self-contained DVD writers / TV recorders (with built-in HDDs) are half capable of editing my MiniDV films before burning to DVD? I've used Ulead's VideoStudio 8 in the past but it crashes too often on my PC, and am now wondering if there's a different route to try. I'm not after fancy effects - just want to be able to remove the rubbish, move scenes around and may be add a title or two with DVD chapters being enabled. (and in my case, without PC crashing during the edit phase) Thanks for any insight -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK http://www.megalith.freeserve.co.uk/oddimage.htm |

Video editing is the only real application which tasks a PC as much as a 3d game, yet it's amazing how many people expect to be able to edit video on a PC whic can't run games at all! |

To reinforce what John's said, I'd first download EndItAll and run it before doing any video work. This will close background programs that might otherwise eat up you computer resources. -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |

OK thanks, I'm not into games, so what spec would you suggest for a PC which would be stable running Ulead VideoStudio 8 ? -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK http://www.megalith.freeserve.co.uk/oddimage.htm |
