Default Filming through glass

Found myself on a coach trip through the Lakes last w/e, and quickly noticed
that my Sony TRV22's viewfinder was showing the glorious sunlit views
(through the coach windows) with a heavy blue tinge. Switched from "Auto
White Balance" to "Outdoor", and all was fine.
Would this indicate that the sensors are looking for UV when setting the
White Balance? Visually the views seemed fine, and I wasn't aware of any
"sundim" properties of the coach window glass.
