Default Stop motion using a DV camera?

I used XPs ability to take a picture from the DV.
I then used virtualdub to join pics into an AVI.
I think I had to convert the jpgs to BMPs.
I did this by hand.
I'm sure there is a batch app to do this.

I just read an interesting article about a guy who produced a home-made

stop
motion (animated) film using is DV camera. Unfortunately, it didn't go

into
any detail as to how he actually did it, but it got me wondering; is this
kind of thing easy to do with a standard home DV camera?

Mike.
