| Hi, have just finished recording on above, and am trying to transfer over to pc, I dont have the instruction book (its my daughters) and justcannot see where to put the usb cable in! I charged it last night and found the socket ok, I would like to use it again today so need to transfer! tia -- Please put Sheila in the subject line when you email me. |

For this you need a firewire card in your PC (if it isn't already equipped with one) and a 6-pin to 4-pin firewire cable. The smaller 4-pin end goes in the camcorder. The USB connection is for streaming video (webcam), and/or still photo transfer if your camcorder supports it. The USB connection requires a special USB cable (with a miniature plug at one end) which is supplied with the camcorder. All camcorder connections should be found under a click-off flap on the right-hand side of the camcorder - at the front, just behind the lens. You might like to have a look at: http://www.camcord.info/basics which shows a picture of the cable you should be using. The first part of http://www.camcord.info/archiving also describes the capture process. -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info thanks for that, looks like there is a problem, Ihave used the same camcorder before, but about 18 months ago, no problems, and I have plugged the usb cable into pc, and its saying camcorder not found. it did say it was capturing movie, I went out, came back and said there isnt enough hdd space...now its saying camcorder not found -- Please put Sheila in the subject line when you email me. |
