Default Where to go for second hand?

Hi folks,

I'm a student wanting to start practising video production and editing,
and I'm looking to pick up a second hand prosumer miniDV cam. Best bet
at the moments looks like the Panasonic AG-DVX100 (non 'A').

Does anyone have any suggestions about good places to keep an eye out
for this kind of second hand kit? Obviously eBay, warnings
notwithstanding; are there any good dealers (though price could be an
issue) or useful forums to watch?

Also, any particular pitfalls by buying cams second hand, besides the
obvious? Clearly I'd insist on seeing it working first, for what THAT's
worth... also these cams seem to have a usage clock so if that's
reliable then that's another indication I guess (but are higher or
lower hours better??!).

Some input on negotiating minefields would be appreciated...!

Cheers

Toby

Snipped...
There's been a number of Sony VX100 cams on Ebay over the last 3
months, being eventually sold for anything between £250 and £600.

Sorry, that should have read 'VX1000'.
