They are the exception, most UK programme makers use DigiBeta or DVPro 50, prosumer DV cameras (such as the PD150 / 170) are used but they are only used on the cheaper productions or were it would cause problems for a larger camera to be used. How many people who spend over 10k on a camera (real pro's) will look in this newsgroup? Not many or none!!!! Grow up and take the camera from out of your .... I agree, but ONLY because of the stance taken by people like Mr Morgan who seem to feel threatened with the mere mention of professionalism and disrupt the group when anything more than home video is mentioned - his well used "this is a 'rec' group" type of remark. Just take a look at the rec.video.production group, many pro's in that group and many pure hobbyists too, both exist side by side.... |

Oh, you have read the 'rec' bit. I was beginning to wonder. I feel no sense of threat at all. It does **** me off a little when folk start spouting off about "professionals", when if you pay attention you'll very soon realise that they are no more than wannabees. Professionals would not be subscribing to a group that is clearly aimed at amateur video making. The ones here who do claim to be professionals (most clearly are not, judging by some of the rubbish they come out with) must find it does wonders for their egos to make such claims. Sad really that they have so little self-esteem that they feel the need to do so. But since it is you 'colonic' Jerry, it is not surprising that you yet again choose to embark on a litany of personal abuse. You really ought to get out more. I had removed you from my kill file (again) in the unreasonable hope that you would contribute something useful or remotely interesting to the group, other that your usual diatribe of personal abuse. Back you go again.... -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |

It does **** me off a little when folk start spouting off about "professionals", when if you pay attention you'll very soon realise that they are no more than wannabees. Professionals would not be subscribing to a group that is clearly aimed at amateur video making. But it doesn't have to be solely aimed at the amateur, as I pointed out (in the bit you snipped out, no doubt 'cos it doesn't fit in with your argument) that the rec.video.production group have both amateur and pro co existing happily side by side in a 'rec' group and both pro's and the amateur co-exist happily side by side in the DVdoctor web forums - they even co-exist happily in this group when you are off on one of your 'holidays'... The ones here who do claim to be professionals (most clearly are not, judging by some of the rubbish they come out with) must find it does wonders for their egos to make such claims. Sad really that they have so little self-esteem that they feel the need to do so. .....and you would know what you are talking about then, so why have you been found so lacking in you own 'knowledge so often (for example, if you knew really know about Sony camcorders you would know that a/. it was Sony who caused the problems with incompatible tape formulations and b/. what you think are consumer VX1000's used by broadcast companies are in fact prosumer PD150 or 170's.... But since it is you 'colonic' Jerry, it is not surprising that you yet again choose to embark on a litany of personal abuse. You really ought to get out more. Personal abuse, were is the 'personal abuse' in the message you replied to, what you say above if far more abusive towards me... I had removed you from my kill file (again) in the unreasonable hope that you would contribute something useful or remotely interesting to the group, other that your usual diatribe of personal abuse.
