Default svhs input to record question

I am trying to understand what my best choice is to record svhs-c analogue
footage to dvd , I have a Liteon recorder but would need to use composite
feed, does the Panasonic E65 which has a svhs socket permit capture at svhs
resolution? Please.

svideo fed thru svideo cable will be recorded at whatever resolution
you set the E65 to.

720x576
352x576
352x288

check the settings for xp/ep/sp etc

s-video and s-vhs are two different things. S-video is a connection
standard, with seperate connections for chromanance and luminance. It
therefore avoids the aweful interactions between the two which happens with
composite. So although improved horizontal resolution is often quoted as the
reason for using s-video, actual image quality should also be considered as
better as well. S-vhs also seperates chromanance and luminnce on the tape to
improve picture quality, which is why most s-vhs decks have s-video
connections to preserve the extra image quality.
