Default Matrox RTX10 Suite

Despite working in TV for years I am only just looking at getting some
editing software at home.

This suite looks pretty good and the price point is nice.

Can anyone offer any objective opinions?

many thanks.

Lacks functionality, considering the price point of it's bigger
brother (RTX100).

But it's bigger brother is considerably more expensive.

I was kind of hoping for opinions on how the product compared to
competing products at similar price points.

But what are the real savings (or not...) going to be, the RTX10
doesn't seem to come bundled with Premiere anymore so you're going to
have to add the cost of editing software onto your purchase. The
RTX10, IMO, now seems to fail into a no-mans land, more money than the
Studio type entry level card / software bundles but (at circa 300 GBP)
it's to expensive when you add the cost of decent software compared to
the RTX100 etc.

RTX10 + Abobe premiere = circa 900 GBP

RTX100 + Abobe bundle = circa 700 GBP

[source DVC]

As I said, the RTX10 just doesn't add up anymore !

Unless you get it on Ebay for 180 uk pounds with P Pro 1.5!!

I'll admint without premier the RTX10 is not woth it. But Matrox still
advertise it as coming with Premier, and websites like Sub and Jigsaw
are still selling it with Premier.

Actually "(sic)" is supposed to be used to draw attention to the spelling
of something which may otherwise appear to be incorrect. It follows the
word to draw attention to, and isn't a markup tag.

No. this is a legitimate copy of all the software and a new / unused board!
Thanks for your moronic sic helpful /sic comment ! :~(

Don´t understand what you mean by that, nor your use of "sic", but I suppose
yes, it is helpful for me to point out that things can be purchased at great
savings and legally too if one cares to take the trouble to search (and
remove one´s blinkers!)

Actually it's not just the spelling, it is used to draw the attention of
the reader to anything which the original author got wrong (in the
opinion of the user of '(sic)'). (The literal meaning is "he says", as
in "that may be his opinion but he's wrong": "Brian is king (sic) of the
Jews.")

It follows the
word to draw attention to, and isn't a markup tag.

It doesn't even make sense as a markup tag, at least not the way it was
used in that post. If it was supposed to highlight 'helpful' the
convention is to put the replacement ('moronic', presumably) after the
incorrect word not before it.
