| I'm trying to use Camtasia Recorder and adobe premier pro 1.5 together but having a problem. I make a full screen capture recording with camtasia and it works as a full screen on playback. It also works as a full screen when played back in Windows Media Player. But if I import the camtasia avi into adobe premier pro it appears with a thick black border around the outside - as if the avi has been shrunk in size. I know that one solution is to inflate the playback size in adobe so it fills the image area again but I'd rather just solve this so it imports properly in the first place. I don't understand why the avi always appears size-reduced once it imports into adobe, despite the fact that I've tried many different combinations/sizes when exporting the avi from camtasia. Thanks for any help. |

For the camtasia exports I've tried every availbale resolution if offers. Your project in premiere is ??x?? DV. = 768 x 576 Thanks for your response. |

I have no direct knowledge of Camtasia but I assume that the codec used by camtasia to produce dv is not correctly recognized by Premiere. There are some FAQs on Camtasia about codec problems with Premiere also quite a lot if you google Camtasia Premiere. Thanks for any help. Sorry I haven't come in before, I've just got back from two weeks in India. First select your imported AVI file from the project view in Premiere and then go to File Interpret Footage. Inside the Interpret Footage dialog box, check the Ignore Alpha Channel option. This makes your AVI file completely visible. If the video is still flawed, try reselecting the clip in order to refresh the video viewer. If the problem remains, the below might offer some clue: Are you running the video clip(s) through Producer to generate your AVI? Have you put the TSCC Codec in the Windows System folder? You should also have the current version of the TSCC codec (2.0.5). If you're running the Morgan M-JPEG2000 codec make sure the FourCC code is enabled. -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |
