To my knowledge there are no domestic DVD Recorders yet supporting DVD+R
dual layer media. At the moment this remains a Computer only option AIUI.

Why bother? Given the cost of the discs....

Hopefully we'll have blue-ray within a year (?) anyway.

Fingers crossed (and legs)

Two things wrong, though. One, it doesn't do '-' recording, and two,
it's a Philips. Nice otherwise.

Ooh. Guide+ and HDMI.

I can't say I'm bothered by the dual-layer feature.

I've had some experience with recent DVDR Philips machines and they
have improved beyond all recognition. The ones I have installed
recently have worked very nicely.

The lack of DVD- is a pain though I suspect that it will handle DVD-
playback without difficulty, which is enough as my PC DVD burner is
fully -+ compatible. It's the DD in that I'm after.

Obviously I can't comment on reliability.
