| I have just got a Sony SCR HD 1000 3CCD camcorder. When I shoot and playback, there is a blue screen gap (5 seconds) between sceens. Is there something I can do, or should I live with it? THANKS NIKOS |

THANKS NIKOS Assuming that use the start/stop button for recording, keep the camera in "Standby" between takes, and keep the cassette in the camera, you should not get blue screen between scenes. I don't get a blue screen on my Sony TRV22 in normal use, but I think I saw a hint of it on my Sony TRV60 shortly after purchase. Doesn't seem to happen now. If it continues, I suggest you take it back, after all it's supposed to be a top model! How's the exposure in full auto? -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK http://www.megalith.freeserve.co.uk/oddimage.htm |

The only thing Ι noticed is that when the subject is very bright there are some "sparking" areas It still doesn't seem correct. If I stop filming with the Start/Stop button, turn off properly, turn on again to Standby, and then film again using the Start/Stop button, I do not get blue screens between scenes. I asked about the exposure because reviews in the journals in the UK all indicated that slight over-exposure was a problem for this "top model" when used in Full Auto. My TRV60 also suffers from this (and I now nearly always use manual exposure control), whereas my TRV22 seems to be spot on in full auto. -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK http://www.megalith.freeserve.co.uk/oddimage.htm |

I mainly use chipped tape for ease of finding my "dated shoots" afterwards for playback, but I haven't noticed any difference when using non-chipped tapes. -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK http://www.megalith.freeserve.co.uk/oddimage.htm |
