with the camera on , mains powerred and connected to the pc by
firewire cable , switch the camera into vcr mode.
windows should make a 'ding' sound and say found new hardware.
if not , try adding new hardware and point the wizard to
c:\windows\inf\msdv.inf

Windows recognizes the camera when I plug the Firewire Cable in and turn
the camera on (vcr mode). That is why i don't understand what i'm doing
wrong. (btw my computer is an acer travelmate 290 if that's got anything
to say...)

Greetings,
Sebastian

I am guessing that this problem occurs when you export the footage you have
created.

Are you using the exporting to the same folder/drive that your original
footage sits on? If so ...export to another drive.

You don't have a matrox RT card do you? See the site for details if you
do....

Make sure the export disk is different to the source disk though and see if
that works...
