Our car was broken into between 2.10 pm and 3pm saturday 26th July,
whilst we were inside the church filming a wedding.
The car is a red volvo estate.
We lost..
An apple mac G4 667 mhz base unit with 3 hard drives inside it and 1.25
gig of ram.
This has two full nearly complete wedding edits on it.
(We know it shouldn't have been in the car, but it was being returned by
one of the camera men who was with us on the job.. Everything was well
hidden under car blankets and jackets)
A sony PVM 9" video monitor
A sony VX 1000e video camera
A sony battery charger for BPL series lithium batteries
a couple of sony BPL 40 lithium ion batteries
an ARCA Swiss monoball tripod head
a 25 AH lead acid battery in a leather carrying case
Bag of assorted audio cables (XLR-XLR)
A sony NP 730 battery and a charger for sameA brown Billingham camera
bag.
A black dinner jacket and a rucksak full of sandwiches...!

My car was stolen 1998 in poland, I left the car only for 10 Minutes to
visit a church (( the police found the car after 2 Years in Russia.

Unlucky. Someone's premium is going up next year - I hope your business
insurance covers unattended theft.

the wedding edits... Don't Macs have a "backup" program - I know the
damned things aren't rife with hardware failures, but they are pretty and
can be stolen by illiterates who think they're computers.

I know a fantastic girl who could replace the sandwiches should you need
them urgently, but I'm not sure about the rucksack - try Famous Army Stores.

Yes we shouldn't have left it in the car,
no the insurance doesn't cover it
and fortunately we do have the camera tapes for the weddings

I am so sorry to hear this ... as a wedding photographer myself I can
fully understand what a disaster it must be to have lost these.

I wish you the best of luck in finding them ... the concern is that
they are often quickly sold in pubs for next to nothing to fund
purchases of illegal drugs.
