Its damn superb from what ive seen so far, it run soo much more
solidly than premiere, its a pity it costs so much money..

Do you get more fx/transitions on the full version compared to the
demo?

Whats the videofactory thing like? similar?

How quaint.

Bah!! I like it!

And i wont even mention the scrub controls.. when u hear that rewind
like a tape you will probably wet urself

You mean it actually plays a sound that mimics a rewinding tape? Sounds
very cheesy to me.

No, it actually does rewind the true sound as it reverses, if you
rewind you can hear it.. Its just really quick and responsive is the
most pleasing aspect of it.

I heard you can't scrub the timeline like you can in Premiere?

I beleive you can? is that when you pick the line up and drag it to
where you want?!

It can do this fine from what i remember

So you gonna buy it, even though you can't afford it? Or are you going to
get that DVD writer first?

Buy it my arse! if it was more affordable i certainly would as its
a product that could do with the support.. But at that price its too
much, i may get a keygen and see what more the full version can do, if
i ever manage to produce anything with it and make a bit of money i
would love to buy it though as to do this in hardware would be 10x at
least!

I already bought a writer mate birthdays are damn handy lol

and great it is too

I'm still waiting to finish my current project before I dust off the trial
version. I think my stumbling block will be its interaction (or lack of)
with the DV500.

Its worth it, in an ideal world i would have that sitting alongside
After effects.

I want to make budget movies as opposed to home videos, hence the need
for something like after effects.

Ah I understand now, thanks. Don't know if that would appeal to me, but
I can appreciate the feature.

Tsk tsk. So how much of your money do you believe it is worth?

You know there's a cheaper method of getting a legitimate copy via the
competitor upgrade.

i ever manage to produce anything with it and make a bit of money i

Interesting logic.

I'm also interested to know what authoring software you use. I'm a bit
stuck on it...studio 8 didnt have much to offer. And Ive got some
programs that were a bit naff.

Let me guess, MyDVD ??

How do you apply the authoring bit to
the dvd when you burn it?

Not sure what you're asking here. You author the DVD in terms of laying
out the menus (or importing menus), linking them to movies and audio. The
software will then build the DVD project, and some times burn it if it can
recognise your writer.

And am I right in thinking you dont have to
have any menus or anything at the start of a dvd? (So you can just
burn the audio and video file to a dvd)

Correct, the "first play" can be a movie. But you still have to "author"
it. Your MPEG-2 and audio files need to be multiplexed into a VOB file
which the DVD player needs.

Take a look at DVD-lab from mediachance.com. You can d/l a free trial for
30 days and it's very versatile. Only allows one audio track so far,
but the menu creation is very powerful and featured yet very easy to use.
Its latest release is a beta, but reasonably stable for most people.

It means you can hold the position and let go to get just the right
spot..

...oh hangon im thinking of my missus

It can do this fine from what i remember

mmmm im glad you replied because i dont think it previews the footage
when you do that, only when you drop the pointer it does.... but
The jog is far nicer and the vide is displayed on the timeline.

I dunno, id pay £60 for it i guess as im only a hobbyist, if i did use
it for making movies i would pay ALOT more.. Its only an interest at
the moment and im more curious to see what the technology can produce
in videos, most of the programs of this ilk i would only use about 10%
of the product i expect, it would be nice if you could buy the basic
editor and then add which modules you wanted.

Im just a video FX whore when it comes down to the nitty gritty, i
play with them for hours but never use any of them

You know there's a cheaper method of getting a legitimate copy via the

I havent seen that, the only competition software ive got is Premiere
which came with a capture card i had, which is what i will probably
stick with as all my stuff is saved in premiere format.

Got Nero and mydvd bundled with it, mydvd is total ****e though

Did i say total?

You trying to sell me something by any chance? hehe
