| Would anyone have any knowledge of how good the 'Night shot' feature is on Sony Mini DV camcorders. I presume it would/could be better/worse depending on which model but I was just wondering in general terms if it is a feature worth having. On recent holidays we had the option of doing 'Badger watch' at which I could see the value of having a very 'Low Lux' feature on a camcorder but those moments are fairly infrequent! Thanks.............. |

Further, it has limited range (it uses a low-power IR light on the front of the camcorder) I presume it would/could be better/worse depending on which model but I was just wondering in general terms if it is a feature worth having. Thanks.............. Personally, I consider it a complete waste of time, but the marketing men like to promote it :-) -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |

But try shooting some footage in darkness without it and see what the quality is :-) Sometimes you cannot illuminate the subject conventionally, or it is not desirable. Having said that, the built in IR light is very weak. Anyone tried the add on one? Loz |
