| I have a brand new Sony 510A drive. It's installed correctly, device manager says it's working properly but Adobe Premiere, Studio 8 and none of the Veritas programs supplied with it recognise the drive (although Nero does). Can anyone suggest a solution. OS is XP. Proc is AMD Ath 2200 with plenty of Ram and HDD space. |

| I had a similar problem with my DRU500 on XP and it turned out that I had to install the ASPI layers manually. I also found that the latest ASPI was no good on XP, it seems that 4.60 is the good medicine for XP. "Mick" wrote in message ... I have a brand new Sony 510A drive. Firmware updated to latest version by the way Maybe related, maybe not, but I have tried clicking on the same drive (same firmware) on Windows Explorer and it keeps jumping back to my previous path as if it can't read the drive. Command prompt can see it OK. I also had problems with Nero erasing a DVD+RW disk - it couldn't do it. Ulead was also acting a little funny not allowing me a write to DVD+RW disk once it had already been written on once. MyDVD could not erase this disk either. DVD+R all seemed to work OK though. I am new to DVD authoring so put all these things down to me not really understanding some of the processes. I uninstalled the software for using DVDs like floppy disks (forgotten what its called) and then I could burn to the DVD+RW again. Maybe just a co-incidence though. |

| Thanks for the help but may I have a translation :-)? I'm a computer illiterate I'm afraid. Just what do I need to do? "Axel Van Kampen" wrote in message . au... | As you can see, the solution is non-trivial. Take the thing back and get a good Pioneer. |
