Hope this is an OK topic!
I have bought some Sony Tapes from Ebay; they are DVM60R3; they seem to be
widely available in Australia where they are described as Premium Grade
tapes but not marketed as Premium; however in Australia there exists two
types of Excellence tapes; with and without the chip.
I need to know if the ones I have bought are the same as the Premium tapes
sold here or inferior. Sony UK were their usual helpful selves declining to
answer the simple question on the grounds that they are not UK products!! I
have the opportunity to return them but would like advice first. If anyone
can point me to the spec for Premium tapes here I can compare with the spec
of the ones I have bought.

This may have some bearing on the matter,,
Have used Sony DVCAM tapes but much prefer the TDK equivalent.
Much fewer dropouts and better transferability between decks.
