Have you ever heard about some device that could be used to copy the DV
tapes to the computer? I used Canon GL2 to create many tapes.

Get a cheap DV camcorder - just make sure you record in SP mode on the GL2

A Samsung VP-D371W/XEU is ninety quid on Amazon - cheaper than a dedicated
DV deck, and a backup in case the GL2 goes tits up.
