I'm not sure what you've done, but it is best to use Vidomi with
the original WinTV file.
My Iomega Screenplay will be returned.
I did a straight copy of the original WinTV MPEGs to a DVD and they played
fine on a Proline TV with built in DVD player as well as 8 year old
Philips TV with built in DVD player.
The latter sealed it for me, if an old Philips machine can play the files
OK then a new device surely should.
Thanks for your advice, I learnt a bit about the make up of video files.

OK Geoff, this link is to the Ellion site, their HMR-700A
is supposedly an identical model to your Iomega.
Do a deeper search than I did, but it seems many have
used these upgrades for their Iomega and Hyundai's.

Firmware is basic code flashed to a devices nuram, it is
used to upgrade and fix bugs etc.
Now the But's....
Firmware upgrades rarely can be undone. Unknown if
that is the case with the Iomega, but go into the upgrade
as it being permanent - irreversible?
Follow exactly the instructions to perform the upgrade.
A firmware upgrade from one OEM for a device of another,
even though they are identical models, will very likely
invalidate your Iomega's warranty
