Download VLC as a media player - it has it's own codec's - also the
file may contain a couple of soundtracks and subs etc that is
confusing WiMP...

I have VLC and it plays fine but the Iomega screenplay enables
convenience of playback via the TV.

VLC comes with ffdshow codec pack. Its quiet likely that the codec that VLC
is using is not available to the other players
