Hi,
After downloading the trial of Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 9, I
eventually (after some hours) found it won't import sound with avi
files: http://tinyurl.com/5ppn4c
On the basis that I am looking to pay for video editing software that
will actually do the job without being dependant on 3rd party plugs,
can anyone recommend a decent product for under £100.
This will only be used perhaps 6 times a year, so I don't have a need
to learn the ins and outs of every option. Just simple and reliable
clipping, editing etc.
TIA for every personal recommendation suggested.
Ah but what kind of avi. That can cover many file formats some of which even
have sub formats like MPEG 4
Certainly it can import sound and video in an untargeted file as can other
editors. the simple ones at low cost are Pinnacle studio 11 or 12, 12 having
just been released Ulead Video studio 11 Sony as you have tried. Director
and more. all will work from camcorder files but may well get tripped up by
very highly compressed files that are shared on the net. They will also
include burning soft ware for making DVD's from your clips.
I have used Pinnacle 7 8 and 9 with out problems though there where lots
of complaints about crashing I now have 11 and I'm sticking there, Price
wise look at Amazon you may well find that the price is less then half of
what the Manufactures and PC world are asking
You will also have Movie maker that is free from Microsoft this makes avi's
that can later be converted and burnt to disc as DVD with Nero if you have
that otherwise it makes wmv's. these can not be viewed on stand alone DVD
players but can be on a computer. May be all you need
