Has anyone used a Macrovision Remover please and if so, what make /
model did you use and was it as good as you thought.

Yes, I used to use a box between the video player and a recorder - but
the best tool is a Canopus ADVC100 or later models. A little (if at all)
documented feature is that passing anything through the Canopus disables
all macrovision. Paid about £200 GBP for mine years ago....

You need a TBC, not an analogue DV converter (although the some of the
more expencive models do contain a TBC also)! All marcovision does is
disrupt the sync pulses, reconstruct the sync and all will be well,
disclaimer except that what the OP wants to do is still illegal
/disclaimer.

I received an Alba DVD Recorder from someone on my local Freecycle Group and
which I use for recording from the Tv on.

I also have a Panasonic DVD Recorder.

What I try to do is keep my favourite programs on one DVD so that it is much
easier to view later.

The trouble is that when I try to record on the Panasonic from the Alba a
message keeps popping up on screen saying NoREC and that I am trying copy
copyrighted material and will therefore not record.

Hence the reason for the CopyGaurd remover
