rescue video from SD card

using the USB cable, sometimes the transfer of video from my Canon
camcorder (SD card) to my PC won't work, I get an error message and
the video will not download. I've tried a different cable but no joy.
I've also tried a usb SD card reader but that won't work either, and
yet the video plays fine in the camera playback. So I'd be grateful to
hear from anyone with experience of this problem. Is there an SD card
reader specifically designed to rescue data? I've seen several
shareware programs about that claim they can rescue data but I'm
dubious about shelling out money on something I've never heard of.
I've tried the camera on three different PC's but the video will not
download so it's either the camera or the SD card at fault. A HD hardware
capture device is out of my budget for the moment so I need to rescue
video from the card.
Thanks for any advice.
Is It supposed to, aren't you supposed to use Fire wire for Video and USB
for still's.
If it plays in the camcorder the date is intact and does not need recovery.
If placed in a card reader where you then trying to copy with zoombrowser or
using windows explorer? |
