[ cross posting cut ]

I just wondered what program(s) other people are using for editing
their home movies, and authoring to DVD?

I was using Nero 6 but have been having a lot of problems so am
thinking of switching.

Anyone have any preferences/recommendation for a decent bug free non
bulky good value highly compatible efficient product for editing and
authoring your own home movies to DVD? What gives the best bang for
your buck?

Well if you want to keep it cheap and are using XP Home SP2 (or higher
/ later)might I suggest Windows Movie Maker for editing and then
freeware software called D2MP [1] (actually a suite of programs inter
dependant programs) that will compile an ISO image file that can then
be burnt with Nero.

As is always the case with video content / DVD authoring, the better
your computer spec' and the more HDD (non boot drive) storage you have
the quicker and less problematic the process will be - could it be
that your problems are hardware rather than software related?

[1] The software will produce basic DVD's (best for single content
disc's) that will play automatically - ie. without menu.

If you want to activate the extras, below, then you can buy an
activation code for 6 Euros.

- MPEG file handling;
- AVS Script review (video & audio);
- External audio file support;
- Subtitle font configuration;
- Full MENU configuration;
