Default DVD Playback - Cropped Menu & Video

I'm mucking about with the demo of DVD Lab, trying to get 16:9 output
from ES4.1.4 on to disc. That I can do, to an extent.

I've set up the menu, linked it all together, and compiled the DVD,
which plays correctly on my PC with WinDVD6. The VOBs also play
correctly with BSPlayer. When I burn the DVD it plays correctly in my PC
under WinDVD, but on the TV both the menus and the video are cropped,
losing a significant amount the of the picture. It's as if the playback
has been put through pan & scan between my Pioneer DVD Player and
Panasonic widescreen telly, and a Panasonic DVD recorder, and the same
Panadonic widescreen telly.

I've burnt the movie to DVD-RAM as standard DVD-RAM disc, and as a
proper DVD. No joy with either.

The video is captured in 16:9 from a Sony MiniDV camera - no problems
with that, or any of the production process until I try to play it on
the TV.

Any ideas? I ramped up the video quality to maximum in ES, set the
aspect ratio accordingly and so on. Away from the TV it's fine, on it,
it's poo-poo.

Can you not try it out with another TV, as everything seems to point to the
TV being the cause of this?
My Son bought a huge great fancy widescreen TV, told me how amazing it was
etc. etc. When I went over to UK to visit, first thing I did was to sneakily
set the picture up correctly - I didn?t say anything but sat back and
watched as all the family started to comment on how the picture was suddenly
much better!

The same problem occurs on other TVs I've tried it with, too. Turns out
it was because I was writing outside the safe area. A few seconds re-
jigging the menu and moving some PIP sorted the problem out.
